Friends of Kaliwoods – Interpreting the EWCO funding bid, and counting our tree nursery species

I couldn’t have done it with you. And I was meant to sit beside Will. With the help of Peter, Will, Jackie, Virginia, Leslie and Caroline, we got the Funding application understood. As well as hearing stories from Southwold, and why the skatepark was named Klondike (Because the south side was California and the north Klondike, representing two turf challenging families back in the herring fleet days)

Is Glyphosate the devil incarnate? Evidently it does not cause cancer (according to Cancer Research UK – an organisation I once worked for). Glyphosate binds tightly to soil. It can persist in soil for up to 6 months depending on the climate and the type of soil it is in. Glyphosate is broken down by bacteria in the soil. It degrades at a relatively rapid rate in most soils, with half-life estimated between 7 and 60 days
The answer is, I’m not going to use it.

Ah so it’s only 7,000 trees. And the protection (£15,000+9,000)is over twice the price of the trees (£9,000).

With Caroline on 5 bar gate scribing, Will and Virigina on counting, Leslie and Peter on re-potting (Virgina replenished our pots), we calculated we had around 300 tree saplings for us to plant come the winter. Could we muster 1,000?

A very satisfying day. Thank you all.
