A surprisingly large number of elders gathered this week, warmed by fire, sun and the social glow of circling together with old and new friends. We shared dance moves and words that described how we felt. Several of us drew with sticky berry’d treasure inks and some sat noticing how calm kaliwoods was, the trees in the distance barely moved. Mushrooms have been growing along the paths and noted one was as frilly as a flamenco skirt.
We split into groups of team apple and team hip, there was a gathering and mashing of hip berries, great grating of apples, a recipe following of fritter and choosing of syrup, simmering of cinnamon, syrup straining muslin orchestrations and the cooking and tasting of scrumptious fritters galore.
