Elders 18 Poems and Galls

It was national poetry day, as Caroline and Nicky reminded us. So we combined this with our home work, words beginning with ART, inspired by an artichoke or a drawing of an artichoke, which was done by Gill – see below.

We went in search of galls, plentiful by the pond, where an English Pendunculate Oak meets a Turkish oak. From this (collective noun for many Galls) knobble of knopper galls we selected one, and came back to draw and explore this extraordinary shape, a chemical reaction.
