Elders 3 – seeds, shapes, hopes, manifestations

We began with stories. Seeds and lovers and their letters. How one set of stored letters became a nest and food for a mouse family. How another was devastated that his letters (works of art, naturally) were cremated.

We turned to homework, guessing the seed. Parsnip and apricot flummoxed us.

Andrew who had fascinated us two weeks ago with squash stories had dropped off some seeds – all F1 – which we planted into our experimental snails, well choreographed by kally, also a snail pot virgin.

With great pleasure we looked at the seeds we had planted last autumn. Pride of India with and without casing, the Cawdry oak, black walnut, and some unknowns . Most had begun that miracle of breaking out from the seed and forming into a potential tree.
