It was a warm September day of much chatter, catching up, telling our summer time stories. Of the Dunwhich fire and the oaks surviving (unlike the birch and pine), the fear of Esther who lived at the edges in Westleton, and had to choose what to take from their house; the dead hedge so beautifully created, now had to be dissmantaled as it was a potential fire risk. Camping in Sommerset, absailing in Cornwall, a steam train to Whitby’s Dracular (and the worst museum). Why leave Suffolk? The Tree House festival, night swims in Walbserswick with unexpected florescence, Folk East, Latitude, Bungay Folk Festival, motorbike adventures ride and stride to all 15 churches, and an exploration of the Felixstowe docks with cranes like birds.
We loved the Giant puffball, cooked in a mix of butter and oil with a splash of tamari.
Kally bought in a jar of yin yang seeds which grew from one surviving bean plant. Next week – guess the number of seeds in the jar! A remarkable stash of seeds, which we can plant next year.
A wonder around the wood and land to see what had changed. The pond low but in it a remarkable arrow plant, call Sagittaria sagittifolia, a meander down through the new woodland to the shed and community garden, where we ate tomoatoes.

Home work and ideas for the term
Seeds is our theme and we will collect and plant tree seeds as we did last year, but this time I will protect them more assiduously from the mice, squirrels etc. (Two Pride of India trees and three walnut have successfully grown (out of 24 seeds sown)
At the same time – we are inviting you to share the seeds of your geography – all the places you have lived in your life. You addresses, and changes of. We’ll get a map of the UK and one of the world (for Armoral and Michael and those who have led a travelling life) and trace and help to tell the story. Each person each week.
